DOG TRAINING
Teamwork. Respect. Consistency. Fairness. That’s what Baypoint Kennels strives to achieve with their clients and dogs. Whether it’s basic obedience, a gun dog tune-up before hunting season, or aspirations to run in field trials, Baypoint can help you and your dog accomplish these goals.
Trainer, Dan DeVos started his career in 1983 by learning to train his own dog, FTCH/AFTCH Gahonk’s Leave it to Jessie. Traveling across North America and learning from other professionals such as D.L. Walters and Rex Carr, Dan perfected his training program.
Dan has placed Field Champion titles on numerous dogs and bitches, including winning Canadian Nationals. Dan also trained both the dog and handler that won the Canadian National in 1999, and has handled countless finalists in the Nationals. He is also the proud trainer of several high point derby dogs, and a US National derby finalist
Dan’s wife Gloria earned her masters degree in Behaviour Science, and puts the starting foundation on all the young dogs – from obedience to field basics.
Working together, Dan and Gloria have put together a successful, consistent and flexible program that gives handlers and their dogs the knowledge and experience to run with confidence.
PUPPIES
You tell us what you are looking for in a pup and we will do our best to match you up with the right puppy from the right breeding. We have worked hard over the past 30 years to create a line of dogs that are versatile, loyal and bright. Along with proper health clearances, disposition and performance are essential components in our breeding program. Because temperament, desire and smarts are key traits, our puppies will not only fit nicely into your home as a loving companion, but will also excel as a working dog whether it be for daily runs, as a hunting buddy, or as a competitive field dog
Pups come with hip and eye guarantee, and are CKC or AKC registered, microchipped, and have had their first set of shots. Socialization and stimulating environments are prime foundations in getting your pup ready for it's new home.
DOG BOARDING
Constructed in 1990, the kennels are fully enclosed with screened in runs. Twenty-four individual runs with separate, insulated sleeping quarters give the dogs a peaceful place to stretch out and rest after a hard days work.
An enclosed airing yard with accessible pond allows a safe, secure environment for the dogs to run around and interact with each other. In addition to any training, dogs are exercised each morning and evening.
